I am writing today because I want you to become familiar with the amazing opportunities available in Toronto's powerful and lucrative real estate market. Quite simply, there seems to be a never ending flow of activity in the Toronto market.
As some of you may be aware, Toronto is the real estate capital of Canada and ranks first in the construction of buildings in all of North America. In 2012, there was a 7% increase in the resale of homes, and just by April 2013, there was an increase of 3.5%, which was above the forecasts of industry experts. In terms of dollars, the average house price in Toronto in 2002 was $275,887, and this almost doubled to around $500,000 by 2012.
Toronto, being in this enviable position, has been the subject of intense media attention and raised investor interest. Increasingly, many of the above-mentioned deals are done through private deals, such as foreign investors, who are attracted to Toronto because of our low interest rates, steady migration flow to the city centre, and our distinctively stable real estate market.
Given this rise in the market, there has naturally been an influx of real estate agents hoping to acquire some success. This saturation of agents does not necessarily increase the talent pool; instead, I have witnessed many unsuccessful investments due to poor advice from ill-equipped, greedy agents.
The bottom line is that buying, selling or investing in property is a hugely important transaction, whether you are new or experienced in the market. For this reason, it is crucial to select the right representative.
